So, what started out as a wonderful day turned out to be not such a great one. Today while we were out of the house for a showing, we went to the park with friends and both of our wallets, my purse (with baggie of gift cards), checkbook, iphone, and keys were stolen from our car. Basically, if you ask "Was __________ stolen?" the answer would be yes. Thankfully, we are all safe, but with something like this comes such a sense of violation.
Really Bad Things:
- They got soooo much
- They have my car keys and house key along with our address - please don't steal our car!
- The cop was not nice "Yeah...you probably shouldn't have left your wallets." Well, thanks.
- My iphone had my emails loaded on it and I lost my calendar and contacts.
Really Good Things:
- Our car was not damaged
- We have already changed the locks on our house
- We have wonderful friends who helped us with Carter, the dogs, called family for advice, gave us money, and most importantly support
- Our credit cards were not used before we could cancel them
- AT&T was oh so generous to allow us to pay $199 for a new iphone rather than $399 (please note sarcasm)
- WE ARE ALL SAFE!

A Miracle

A miracle has occurred....Carter slept for SEVEN hours last night from 11-6! Our secret - the car seat! He loves to sleep in the car seat. I felt a little bad like we might be creating bad sleeping habits, but Matt said "who cares, we will build him a car seat to sleep in when he's 18 if that is what it takes!" So, we might try this for a little and see how things go.
It is amazing how a good nights sleep makes you feel because we had some really fun awake time with Carter this morning. And, we got some great smiles out of him!

Hopefully the Last Doctors Visit!
Yesterday, I went back to the OB/GYN for what will hopefully be the last time related to this pregnancy. My blood pressure and platelets are back to normal - thank goodness!! Everything else was fine, and I now have no restrictions! I am looking forward to taking a bath again. The day that I went to the hospital I shopped at Kroger for the sole purpose of buying more bubble bath which I have not be able to use yet!

Charlotte Update
On Saturday we had our home inspection in Charlotte. While there were no deal breakers, the very detailed home inspector found some issues that the owners will need to fix. So, hopefully they will agree to them, or we might be moving on to another home! I was excited to see the house for the first time. It is great! It was a little hard to get a good look around because the current owners were home, and I felt a little bit snoopy.
Also, these are pictures from Match Day when we found out we would be moving to Charlotte. Although, they are not the most flattering (I have about 25 pounds of water weight), I thought I would share. Match Day is kind of hard to describe unless you are there, but these pictures might help a bit. (the pictures are in backwards order, I don't know why blogger does that, oh well)
Sunday in the Park
This Sunday we had an open house (and five people came, but we haven't heard anything), so we had to get out of the house for a while. We went to the park in North Augusta, had a picnic, and took some photos of our growing boy. He is now working on his third chin since the second seems to be well established.

4 weeks!
Carter is four weeks old today! Wow...I'm not sure if time is flying or moving slowly - just depends on the day. Last night Carter celebrated this day by letting me sleep almost FOUR uninterrupted hours! Let's hope the trend continues. Not that a four week old baby can do much, but here are some newer things:
- Lifts/holds his head for several seconds at a time
- When he lays on his stomach on our chests, he tries to climb up, and frequently actually moves
- His cord fell off yesterday!
- Using his hands more and more in more purposeful ways
- LOVES being upright - Matt is great at holding him in the perfect way when his tummy hurts - my arms, on the other hand, get tired quickly
That's all I can think of for now!
In other news - Matt and I are headed up to Charlotte this weekend for my lab coat fitting and house inspection. We will keep you updated.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!
Happy Birthday to a wonderful husband and father!! I seriously do not know what I would have done without Matt's amazing love and support over the past years but especially since the birth of Carter. I always knew that he was a wonderful husband and would be a wonderful dad, but I never imagined that he would be as perfect at marriage and parenting as he is. Over the past four weeks he has worn many hats and worn them well - Master Swaddler, Lactation Consultant (seriously, at one point my mom said, "Let Matt help you, he is better at it." This coming from a woman who breastfed two children for a total of 21 months), Expert Baby Burper, Baby Soother, Personal Chef, Housekeeper, Psychologist, Nighttime Baby Feeder, and the list goes on....Over the past few weeks our life has been turned upside down and my love for schedules and planning thrown out the door which has resulted in a serious emotional roller coaster, but Matt has been my rock through the entire adjustment process - he has never faltered or seemed overwhelmed. I am so lucky to have Matt in my life and hope that he knows how much he means to me!

Peds Visit #2
This is a bit late, but Carter had his second visit to the Pediatrician last Monday. His stats:
Weight: 8lbs 8oz (40-50%)
Head: don't remember exact measurement (40-50%)
Length: 20.25 inches (40-50%)
So, he seems to be a pretty well proportioned kid. He gained an average of 1.25oz/day and the expected weight gain is 0.5oz/day, so we are doing something right in the eating department! The doctor said that he looked great! We go back in about 6 weeks for shots. : (

Birthday Dinner
Matt and I had our first date tonight without Mr. Carter. We celebrated my birthday and our wonderful friends, Amanda and Harrison, took the little guy for the night. It sounds like he behaved himself well and slept most of the time!
